La Selva Beach Holiday Art, Antique, and Craft Faire

Tomorrow I will be a part of the 34th annual La Selva Beach Holiday Art, Antique, and Craft Faire! 

Come visit me for all your holiday shopping needs as I have lots of new bangles, rings and much more! 

The faire  starts at 10 a.m. and goes till 4 p.m with free admission. All proceeds benefit the La Selva Beach Improvement Association.

The clubhouse is at 314 Estrella Ave. and will offer free parking.

Max & Kelli

Max found the perfect ring at Riordan Studio and asked Kelli to marry him under the stars on her family's property in rural Oklahoma.  They had a classic and intimate ceremony at the Lincoln Park Conservatory in Chicago with Max's dad as the officiant, (he was ordained on the internet) along with Max's brother as the best man, and Kelli's friend Kenny was her man of honor.  After exchanging hand written vows, their friend Laura played and sang Cat Power's "Sea of Love", a song Max had sung to Kelli on their first Valentine's Day together. Afterward, they had a reception at The Bristol, a farm-to-table restaurant in Wicker Park.

Trunk Show

This Saturday, February 9th, I will be taking part in an Artisan Trunk Show located at Saffron and Genevieve in Santa Cruz. Cam & Amy

Cam and Amy are a fabulous artistic couple who purchased their engagement ring from Alice Riordan Estate Jewelry. Amy is a watercolor artist, she sells them on Etsy and you can view them on her blog Funamals. Check out Cam's work on his blog  he is incredibly talented too!

"Cam proposed to me on Christmas Day 2011. I woke up and the ring was on my finger. It was cute. I never expected him to propose like that, but it makes sense as he is quiet and careful with his words. I remember I was shocked and then when I looked at the ring I just kept staring at it because I couldn't believe how beautiful it was. It was perfect. I guess he had carried the ring with him since the spring prior waiting for the right moment." -Amy

"Our wedding was beautiful and VERY handmade. I met my maid of honor in art school and she made my veil. We also arranged all of the flowers and corsages ourselves. I wore my Mother's dress with a few upgrades to it and I had handmade jewelry for myself and my bridesmaids by etsy seller, ceramicist heather Robinson (a local artist). We had a traditional Lutheran wedding in a big old church in downtown Grand Rapids and we rode a school bus to our wedding reception." -Amy

Dana and Bub

I had the honor of working with the this wonderful couple to find the perfect ring. I was so flattered that Dana, a woman with such distinct taste and an owner at Stripe Design Group, found her dream ring in my select inventory! And how Bub managed to keep the actual purchase a surprise with a thoughtful and romantic proposal, ah well...that is why I LOVE what I do!

Brand New Blog

Welcome to the Alice Riordan Estate Jewelry Blog!  I have been dealing in fine estate jewelry for over 12 years now and I am a GIA Graduate Gemologist.  Most of the time I have to speak about diamond grades and facts, which I know are important.  But I really wanted a space to talk about what inspires me, what moves me, occasionally to tears--yes, I have seen jewelry so beautiful, I cried.  But more about that another time....

I also create jewelry from vintage pieces and add a bit of my own style.  Here is my newest collection made from antique watch pieces from the 1700s - 1800s mostly fusee movements.  I added diamonds and gemstones to soften the industrial feel.  I was going for something a bit mystical, feminine and historical.  Please let me know what you think!
